The Promise of Perfect Peace

April 21, 2016 by i5lwl

You will keep the mind that is dependent on You; in perfect peace, for it is trusting in You. (Isaiah 26:3 HCSB)

Reflect

Right now, the world around us seems to be filled with chaos. We can’t turn on the news without some report of division, or politicians bickering back and forth.  We worry about the fate of our country, our world, and our own personal agendas. What seems to be going on around us is suffocating, and the pressure of the stress in our own lives seems to be drowning us in despair.

Whatever the source of your inner chaos, it is not of God.  We tend to experience the opposite of peace when our lives are focused on anything done in our own strength.  The Bible, however promises us in Isaiah 26:3 that if our minds are dependent on God, then our minds will be kept in perfect peace.

In order for us to have the supernatural peace that Christ desires to give us, we must always remember to trust in Him in any situation. Trust is easier said than done, especially when we can’t see immediate results right in front of us, however without that leap of faith, it is impossible to please God.

What worries are you facing right now? Make the choice to trust God, even when you can’t see the results in front of you. When we are dependent on Him, God gives us the peace that passes all understanding, trusting in God gives us peace of mind, peace of conscience, inner peace and outer peace, and through this peace, ultimately God is glorified.

Pray

Father, thank you so much that You give us the peace that passes all understanding. Help me to find that peace by learning to trust and depend on You. Help me to see the areas that I am not dependent on You, and in your strength, help me to turn these things over to You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Your Turn

What are some things you try to do in your own strength?

How can we learn to trust God in these areas?

What are some actions you can take to keep your eyes fixed on God?
