“Therefore, no condemnation now exists for those in Christ Jesus, because the Spirit’s law of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.” Romans 2-8:1 HCSB
The father of lies wants us to live a life of guilt. Whether it be our past or our present actions, Satan is good to entice us into sin, and then quickly scream condemnation as soon as we fail. Some of his lies include “you will never be good enough”, “your past determines your identity” “you deserve to feel guilty” and “you don’t deserve God’s love”. God’s word starkly contrasts these words however, because regardless of our past, present, or future, your identity is not in your actions, but your identity is a loved child of God.
Our lives are hidden in Christ, and therefore we do not live in guilt, or shame, or condemnation. We live in victory as our lives are made new in Christ Jesus. Conviction comes from the Holy Spirit, guilt comes from the pits of hell. 1 John 1:9 says “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Because of what Christ did for us, we don’t have to live a life of guilt anymore. Walk victorious sisters, you are daughters of the King.
Make 1 John 1:9 your prayer this week. Thank God that he is faithful to forgive us of our sins and that we can live a life of freedom and victory.
Father, thank you so much that I don’t have to live a life of guilt or condemnation, because in you I am set free. Thank you Jesus for making me your child, and for the victorious life I now live in You.
Do you live a life of guilt?
