Hold God’s Hand

It is a typical Saturday in a suburban neighborhood. The sun is shining brightly. A daddy runs alongside his six-year-old daughter’s bicycle, holding on to the back to reassure her she won’t topple. Cheering on the bike rider from the porch, the little girl’s mother holds the hands of a toddler son and helps him climb up and down the porch steps. He does it again and again. It is a new accomplishment for him, and it is fun! A couple doors, a grandfather holds the hands of one of his twin grandsons. The boys are taking turns being swung around in the air. They laugh and grow dizzy, falling over in the soft green grass, but they always come back for more.

Children reach out for a hand many, many times each day. It is good for them to have a hand to hold as streets are crossed or steep steps are climbed. Often, a child wants to hold a trusted adult’s hand simply for comfort or companionship.

God offers you a hand in much the same manner. You are His child. Take His hand today. He will walk with you wherever you go. If you let Him, He will even lead the way.

Let’s pray:

Lord, thank You for holding my hand as I face challenges in my life. It helps to know You are with me. I will not be afraid for my God goes with me. Amen.
