“But encourage each other daily, while it is still called today, so that none of you is hardened by sin’s deception. Hebrews 3:13
Encouragement is not only important in this faith-filled life, it’s necessary. Sisters, we must encourage other believers. We are not devoid of hardships. The Lord told us we would have trouble, but to take heart because He has overcome the world. John 16:33. Difficulties don’t fade away once we’re saved, we will face them, and that’s why it’s imperative we surround ourselves with other sisters in Christ. We need to encourage and build each other up. 1 Thess. 5:11. Do you surround yourself with other believers? Are you fellowshipping with sisters that love the Lord? If we are constantly feeling defeated, down-trodden, or we consistently give in to temptation and sin, we need to take a good look at who we surround ourselves with.
Encouragement is not just supporting each other positively. Biblical encouragement is pulling alongside our sisters and running this race of faith together. It’s giving biblical guidance, directing each other to scripture. It is even rebuke for seeing each other in blatant, repetitive sin. Iron sharpens iron, sisters. Proverbs 27:17. Stirring those around us to keep the faith, repent of sin and love the Lord with all our hearts, souls and minds is what we are to be doing. It’s praying with and for each other. Encouragement can be spending time together reading and studying the Word. Encouragement can be just having fun together as sisters in the Lord, so the bonds we have through Jesus Christ, can increase and get stronger. We will spend eternity together, how wonderful that the Lord brings special sisters into our lives to not only spend time with in this life, but the next! Let’s mutually encourage each other every day!
