“O Lord, how manifold are your works! In wisdom have you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.” Psalm 104:24
As humans, we’re naturally bent to resist glorifying God for the beauty which surrounds us. Whether it’s the splendor of creation or the sweetness of a blessing, we often fix our eyes on the creature rather than the Creator or we miss the blessings all together.
We fail to notice the stature of the hummingbird or the tallness of the trees. These seemingly little things point to a tremendously big God. More than that, when we lift our eyes to behold His glory, we find His sovereign hand moving all things into motion, accomplishing His perfect plan. And we stand amazed in the presence of this great and awesome God.
“May the glory of the Lord endure forever; may the Lord rejoice in his works, who looks on the earth and it trembles, who touches the mountains and they smoke! I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being. May my meditation be pleasing to him, for I rejoice in the Lord.” Psalm 104:31-34
May we have eyes to see the work of His hands and glorify Him for it today. May our meditation be, “God, You are amazing.”
Father, You are holy. We are dust. May we be mindful of that. May our eyes see Your creation and rejoice in the Creator who is worthy of all praise. In Jesus name, Amen.
