We have to tell Him when our emotions are getting to us, making us feel we need revenge for being cheated or we need that person back in our lives when God has taken them away. We have to tell Him when we are feeling lonely, feeling unattractive, feeling jealous, feeling like we want to give up, even when we are feeling lustful, greedy, when we feel like we can’t hold out any longer. Anything that is definitely not in agreement with God and His Word we need to tell Him. We have to tell Him how we really feel; withholding nothing back. The more we confess to God, the more He can heal. When you stop trying to hide things from God and start being honest with Him, He will stop holding back and give you all that He has for you. We have to completely pour ourselves out for God so He can completely pour Himself into us. He wants to do some major work in us, and let’s face it, we need it; desperately. If you want to truly be healed, freed, and delivered, you must come to God with complete honesty.
Your truth will set you free. When I decided to completely surrender to God, to die to myself and stopped holding back things and just spill all the tea, giving Him my entire truth, I felt freedom. It was a relief feeling and it brought me closer to God because now I can tell him literally anything. That is what God wants; He wants us to communicate with Him and be intimate.
So today, give Him your heart, your soul, your mind, your body, your thoughts, your feelings, your problems, your insecurities, your sins, your past, your present, your future, EVERYTHING, give them to God. He has a new beginning for you, He is a powerful God. He can take away all that is haunting and that’s a burden to you. He is just patiently waiting for you to surrender it all, withholding nothing.
…call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you…and will bring you back from captivity. (Jeremiah 29: 12-14 NIV)
